2010 Mulderbosch Sauvignon Blanc review G. Shanaphy
A bright lemon-green colour with a pronounced nose of citrus, lemon zest, green fig and black current leaves all held together by an intriguing floral note, The nose is very light and elegant with just enough a hint of herbal grassiness to tell us it is Sauvignon. There is a light floral component with the lemon and other citrus. The passion fruit, grapefruit, lemon/lime, pear, fig and other tropical fruits are bathed in an herbal, less than medium bodied zesty package. The fruit is lifted and expressive while still soft and elegant. Does not fall into either the Old World, or New World category. Very enjoyable, and a nice change of pace. I would sip this alone, slightly chilled, One of my favorite SA Western Cape Sauvignon Blancs under $20.
